STARSkate Program - Private
(upon coach’s approval, including adults)

Register for STARSkate Private here...Skaters enrolled in private lessons with any of the Huntington Hills Skating Club’s affiliated professional coaches have an opportunity to achieve personal growth and development by participating in a high quality program that teaches the fundamentals of figure skating in a progressive and sequential manner.

STAR” stands for Skills, Tests, Achievement and Recognition.

Program season runs from September to March.

The STARSkate program consists of figure skating skills in four areas: Skating Skills, Ice Dance, Free Skate and Interpretive.

Each area is divided into the following levels:

  • Primary Level Tests:
    • Skating Skills: Preliminary, Junior Bronze
    • Free Skating: Preliminary, Junior Bronze
    • Dance: Preliminary, Junior Bronze
    • Interpretive: Introductory
  • Intermediate Level Tests:
    • Skating Skills: Senior Bronze, Junior Silver
    • Free Skating: Senior Bronze, Junior Silver
    • Dance: Senior Bronze, Junior Silver
    • Interpretive: Bronze
  • Senior Level Tests:
    • Skating Skills: Senior Silver, Gold
    • Free Skating: Senior Silver, Gold
    • Dance: Senior Silver, Gold, Diamond
    • Interpretive: Silver, Gold

StarSkate Program skaters have the opportunity to compete in interclub sanctioned events or opt for a more competitive format. Skaters can qualify to compete at the Regional (local), Sectional (Provincial), National and International level.

The STARSkate Private packages include:

  • HHSC membership

  • Off-Ice (dryland) Training
  • Individual & Group photos

Coaching, competition, Test Day fees are billed directly by the coach and/or club and are not included in the package fee.

Ice time is available in 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 & 12 hour per week packages. Skaters/parents must contact their coach prior to selecting a package to ensure coach availability.

Icetimes are indicated on the Registration Form. Please note that some ice times are designated according to skating level.

Off-Ice (Dryland) training is provided by qualified instructors focusing on skills that support and/or enhance skating. Training takes place at Cardel Place, Friday evening (age 12 and up) and Saturday afternoon (age 11 and under).
